Peer Leader

We are always on the lookout for volunteer leaders who want to run the 6-week Self Management Workshops. CHARACTERISTICS OF A PEER LEADER

  • Committed to the philosophy of the program, its objectives and goals
  • Able to communicate on sensitive issues; is discreet and tolerant
  • Able to facilitate a group discussion
  • Committed towards helping others
  • Enjoys meeting new people
  • Willing to listen, learn new skills, and become a healthy role model

PEER LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend all 4 full days of certification training
  • Facilitate one or two 6-week, 2.5 hour per week Maximize Your Health workshops per year (you will be paired with a second leader)
  • Follow the guidelines of workshop delivery
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Distribute and collect surveys form participants who attend the program
